While some teams are in vacation during the F1 summer, Red Bull Racing team has been on the racing circuit in South California, working with no one else then Tom Cruise.
Producer and actor in Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol, that it will be released on the 21st of December, this year, Tom Cruise took a break from the post-production work, and accepted the invitation to test the Red Bull Racing F1 monopost. David Coulthard, winner of 13 Grand Prix’s and former Red Bull Racing pilot, was Cruise instructor, along with a team of 12 people that came from UK.
Red Bull Racing won 6 victories from 11 races, being the leader in this moment, in the 2011 championship. Cruise is a fan of the monopost, but didn’t drove such a car before. However, now he pumped fuel in the 850 HP engine in such a manner that gave him the possibility to reach a max speed of 291 km/h, just four below Coulthard record.
Cruise completed 24 laps in a seven hours session, that begun with a serial car, in order to familiarize with the car’s complexity. It seems that Tom Cruise is really a pro in this domain too. With a fast learning of the car, good reactions, and the car’s driving complexity the actor really impressed the F1 pilot.
The F1 racing competition is one of the most popular forms of motorsport in the world, with more than 520 million fans around the world. In USA, the Grand Prix, is returning after an absence of 5 years.
Bellow, we posted four photos with TC and the monopost that probably will be the winner this year too. Enjoy!
